                             2026 Orton-Gillingham Courses Offered 
                                 The dates & applications are below. 

       
                   We now offer more Orton-Gillingham training                                    through our collaborative partner. (see below)

  • Classroom Educator Level – This is intended for educators teaching in a general education setting to provide & adapt literacy instruction for the whole class or small groups needing supplemental support.
  • Associate Level – This is the starting point for most educators interested in formal training in the Orton-Gillingham Approach to work with individual students or small groups.  The focus is on individualized, diagnostic & prescriptive aspects of lesson planning and delivery. 
  • Clinical Level (previously called Certified Level) – This is intended for practitioners who have completed the Associate level training & practicum.  This course expands & deepens your understanding of formal assessments and advanced concepts.  Lesson implementation and lesson plan procedures should be firmly in place from the Associate Level allowing for the focus to be on the student.

                    2026 Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator Level
                                             

Classroom Educator Level is intended for educators teaching in a general education setting to provide and adapt literacy instruction for the whole class or small groups needing supplemental support. The Classroom Educator coursework provides educators with the basic content knowledge of research-based explicit language instruction as well as the delivery of instruction aligned with Orton- Gillingham Principles.

Prerequisite: Bachelor's degree

OG Training Classroom Educator Summer 2026

                           2026 Orton-Gillingham Associate Level 
​                                       

Associate Level is the starting point for most educators interested in formal training in the Orton-Gillingham Approach.  It is intended for educators working with struggling readers of all ages, including those with dyslexia in individual  settings (some small group work may be included).  The Associate coursework provides basic, intermediate, and advanced concepts aligned with Orton-Gillingham Principles.  This level focuses on diagnostic and prescriptive error correction procedures, and teaches trainees how to individualize the lesson plan. 

 June Training is full:
​Training Dates:  6/22/26 - 6/27/26 and 10/10/26, 11/7/26 plus asynchronous                                                              cost: $2400

OG Training Associate  Summer 2026

                    2026 Orton-Gillingham Clinical Level    1 of 2 Parts

Clinical Level (previously called Certified Level) is intended for educators/practitioners who have completed the Associate level training and practicum.  The Clinical Level expands and deepens the Associate Level Concepts and equips the practitioner with the skills to address the needs of struggling readers of all ages, including those with dyslexia and more complex learning profiles in any setting.  

Training Dates: 6/29/26 – 7/3/26  and  10/17/26, 11/21/26 plus asynchronous                                                              Cost: $1500 
online only
Prerequisite:   Associate Level Course and Associate Practicum

50 coursework hours are offered each summer; there are 100 total coursework hours required at the Certified level.  

​Clinical Practicums Available
If you did not complete the Associate Coursework & Associate Practicum with ODI, you will need to send a letter of recommendation from your Principal Training Fellow at the Associate Level recommending you for Clinical Level training unless you plan to complete the Clinical Practicum with your previous Fellow.
